Reactive Maintenance
Equipment breaks. You fix it. Downtime is unplanned, costs are unpredictable, and operations stop without warning. This is where most organizations start and where ASSET-Rx location data begins changing the picture.
ASSET-Rx brings real-time location intelligence, workflow visibility, edge AI, and asset data into one operational platform. Each section below expands on the core capabilities shown in the ASSET-Rx Platform Overview, helping teams understand where each capability applies and how it creates value across real industrial environments.
Use Case 01
Asset responsibility is not just about knowing where something is. It is about knowing who is accountable for it at every step. ASSET-Rx links people and assets together in a verified, location-confirmed chain of custody, with a mobile application that both parties use to acknowledge every transfer at the physical location of the asset.
Every asset carries an ASSET-Rx tag. Initial responsibility is assigned at check-in. The asset location, condition, and custodian are logged from first contact.
The outgoing custodian initiates a transfer on the ASSET-Rx mobile app. The incoming custodian receives a notification with the asset identity, current location, and transfer details.
ASSET-Rx verifies that both parties are physically present at the asset location before the transfer is allowed to complete. Both must acknowledge and the system confirms proximity using live RTLS data.
The handoff is timestamped, location-stamped, and logged to the cloud with both parties' identities confirmed. The new custodian tag is linked to the asset. Accountability transfers instantly and is recorded permanently.
Remote or paper-based asset transfers create gaps in accountability that lead to lost tools, disputed liability, and failed audits. ASSET-Rx enforces physical presence at the point of transfer so responsibility cannot be transferred without both parties being at the asset, verified by location data in real time.
Both custodians must be at the asset verified RTLS location to complete any transfer
Mobile application works on standard Android and iOS devices with no dedicated hardware required
Full transfer history visible by asset, by person, by site, or by time period
Configurable approval workflows including single acknowledgment or dual confirmation
Integrates with your ERP or EAM system for asset register synchronization
Supports tools, equipment, high-value materials, PPE, and serialized inventory
Complete audit trail available for regulatory compliance and incident investigation
Visibility of every handoff in your operation from a single dashboard
Use Case 02
Equipment breaks. You fix it. Downtime is unplanned, costs are unpredictable, and operations stop without warning. This is where most organizations start and where ASSET-Rx location data begins changing the picture.
Maintenance occurs on a calendar or usage-hour basis. ASSET-Rx replaces manual hour logs with automatic utilization tracking. Maintenance intervals trigger from actual operating hours and conditions, not estimates.
Sensor data from the ICL8-PC548 and ASSET-Rx Attitude Sensor, combined with location and utilization history, enables ASSET-Rx to predict which assets are approaching failure conditions before they fail.
ASSET-Rx does not only predict what will break. It prescribes the fix. Work orders are generated automatically, routed to the right technician with the right instructions, parts list, and maintenance procedure. Visibility of the problem becomes action on the solution.
Unplanned downtime is replaced by scheduled windows with known duration and parts on hand
Equipment utilization data from ASSET-Rx replaces paper logs and estimated operating hours
Sensor data from Intercal8 interfaces provides condition signals that trigger predictive alerts
Automatic work order generation routes the right procedure to the right technician immediately
Historical maintenance and utilization data feeds back into the prediction model continuously
Fleet-wide maintenance visibility from a single dashboard for operations and maintenance leadership
Use Case 03
ASSET-Rx EDGE extends real-time location visibility into volume measurement using LiDAR-based point cloud analysis. Four system types cover every scenario from static indoor stockpiles to in-motion cargo bays on trucks and train cars. All system types integrate with the ASSET-Rx chain of custody and cloud platform for a complete record of what moved, when, and who was responsible.
For full technical specifications, application guides, and system selection criteria, visit the Volume and Weight Estimation using LiDARs page.
Fixed LiDAR installations in warehouses, factories, and indoor storage facilities. Measures stockpile volumes, bin fill levels, and material quantities in controlled indoor environments. Continuous monitoring with configurable alert thresholds and integration with inventory management systems.
Fixed or semi-permanent LiDAR installations on outdoor stockpiles, aggregate yards, quarries, and port terminals. Designed for weatherproof operation in harsh outdoor environments. Provides accurate volumetric inventory of bulk materials without manual surveying or drone flights.
Real-time volume and flow rate measurement on moving conveyor belts. LiDAR scans the material cross-section as it passes, calculating volumetric throughput continuously. Detects bridging, spillage, and flow anomalies in real time. Integrates with process control systems for closed-loop material handling.
LiDAR sensors mounted in cargo bays of trucks, flatbeds, and train cars measure the exact volumetric change as goods are loaded or unloaded. Discrepancies against expected load manifests surface immediately before the vehicle leaves the yard. Every volume change is attributed to a custodian via ASSET-Rx chain of custody.
Use Case 01
ASSET-Rx helps teams define static and dynamic danger zones around equipment, work areas, restricted spaces, and moving loads. When a worker, asset, or vehicle enters a configured zone, the platform triggers real-time alerts and records the event for safety review, compliance, and incident investigation.
Real-time visibility into personnel, equipment, and material flow across the plant floor helps reduce collisions and downtime.
Configured jobsite zones keep workers clear of heavy machinery and restricted areas, helping reduce struck-by incidents before they happen.
Use Case 02
ASSET-Rx gives supervisors and operators real-time visibility into where workers are across jobsites, facilities, yards, and high-risk zones. By combining live location data with alerts, history, and site maps, teams can improve coordination, reduce blind spots, and respond faster when attention is needed.
Field crews working near live lines, substations, and pipelines gain proximity awareness that helps reduce blind spots.
Vehicle-to-person visibility helps teams track worker movement in low-visibility mining and quarry environments.
Use Case 03
ASSET-Rx helps teams track the real-time location, status, and movement history of critical assets, tools, vehicles, and equipment. Instead of losing time searching across jobsites, yards, or facilities, teams can see where assets are, how they are being used, and when they need attention.
Vehicle, tool, and equipment location visibility helps reduce search time and improve service workflow efficiency.
Route, container, and equipment tracking improves visibility across large industrial yards and waterfront operations.
Mobile equipment and staff location visibility helps teams reduce search time and improve response speed.
Use Case 04
ASSET-Rx links people, assets, and locations into a verified chain of custody. Every transfer is confirmed through real-time location data, so responsibility cannot move from one person to another unless both parties are physically present at the asset location. Each handoff is logged with time, location, asset identity, and custodian history.
Point and pallet location visibility helps teams verify where materials are, who handled them, and when each transfer occurred.
Shipment and vehicle movement can be connected to verified handoffs, creating a clear record from yard entry to dispatch.
Use Case 05
ASSET-Rx gives teams real-time visibility into inventory, materials, pallets, containers, and bulk goods as they move through yards, warehouses, production areas, and transport points. Location data helps reduce search time, improve material flow, and create a clearer record of what moved, where, and when.
Point and pallet location visibility helps teams locate materials faster and reduce manual search time across warehouses and storage areas.
Product, pallet, and equipment tracking supports cleaner visibility through production, cold storage, and distribution workflows.
Ground support equipment, vehicles, and service materials can be tracked around aircraft operations to improve coordination and turnaround efficiency.
Shipment, vehicle, and container movement visibility helps teams manage yard activity from arrival to dispatch.
Use Case 06
ASSET-Rx connects real-time asset location, utilization history, and condition data to the maintenance lifecycle.
